Polyuria is defined as the passage of large volumes of dilute urine, in excess of 2L/m2/day or approximately 40mL/kg/day in older children and adults. Permanent or occasional polyuria can appear in a few special situations such as the following: Increased consumption of liquids.Eating diuretic foods—watermelon, alcohol, coffee.Very stressful or emotional situations because of increased levels of catecholamines in the circulation.Exposure to cold because of vasoconstriction. Food like  alcohol, caffeine, and a high-protein diet can raise the amount or how often you have to pee. Herbs and spices like parsley, dandelion, and ginger may act as natural diuretics, also avoid diuretic fruit like water melon, cucumber etc...
