Flue vaccine for 10 min baby
My baby had a severe cough and phlegm when he was 4 months old, he got admitted into the hospital for 2 days and again he caught cold and cough in 8th month but it reduced with the medicine.
Now he is about to complete the 10th month by 22nd November and got a cough and phlegm again. We are giving him nebulization at home and using the doctor suggested medicine.
Please suggest if the flu vaccine can reduce getting the cold and cough in the babies so he doesn't have to go through all these.

Flu vaccine is recommended for all after 6 months of age. It may help. Flu vaccine prevents influenza virus infection of specific types only. It does not prevent all types of cough and cold which may be due to other viruses. Cough and cold are a part of maturation of the immune system and body.

Flu vaccine can be used anytime after 6 months,
Schedule and doses will be decided on visit to Pediatrician.
It will protect mainly from the virus ‘Influenza’.
Unfortunately there are many other viruses like rhinovirus which causes flu-like illnesses, viral fevers, cold/cough etc.
Flu vaccine will reduce the incidence of influenza related infections, but not others
Therefore, it will definitely protect, and reduce instances of these episodes, but it will not protect all the time, and the child can still get a viral infection.
The number of times the child gets sick may reduce.

Yes.. you could've taken this vaccine in 6th and 7th month of life.... nothing to worry.. you can take that vaccine now also...
