Fistula surgery
I had fistula surgery 7 days ago and have been going to hospital regularly for dressing. The services in the hospital is not good and I am made to wait 30 to 45 minutes before they would find a nurse for dressing. I would like to stop going and try the dressing from home. Is this safe and what are the liquids/ointment/medicine that I should have handy for home dressing. Mine was a complex fistula and the wound is big ( about 2 to 3 cm).

Kindly get the dressing done at the hospital itself since you had a complex fistula and the wound is big so it needs to be done with care so that the wound heals properly. Once the sutures are removed and the wound is healed better you can do the dressing it at home after consulting with your treating doctor.
