Hi, Due to fracture in my fingers I undergone k wire surgery and followed by physiotherapy. Even after physiotherapy still fingers are not movable and adviced to go for manipulation under local anaesthesia. I would like to know whether manipulation under anaesthesia is recommended and not harmful? Since I am worrying. Thanks

That is not reccomended. Physiotherapy should be self driven . Pain relief should be prime.. Forceful manipulation not reccomended.

Hi, if you do manipulation it can worse sometimes. Physio is main with wax bath. Do exercises under warm water. Consult upper limb surgeon. Hope this information helps you. Opinion given by Dr Sivaraman . B, upper limb consultant, Thoraipakkam, OMR, Chennai
