Better consult a doctor you are saying child is irritable when having fever . Liquids is very important for hydration so encourage more fluids. Check the temperature with thermometer so you would know whether due to fever or hot climate.

Dehydration fever is most common cause of fever this days due to high enviormental temp. I recomend increase in the feed intake lime water with pinch of salt for better water retention and temperature monitoring. If fever above 100 give paracetamol syp maximum 4 times a day and tepid sponging if it does not subside inspite of antipyretics.
Next Steps
make sure there is a good ventilation and favorable temperature in the room to avoid hyperthermia.
Health Tips
Temperature monitoring 2-4 hourly and also frequency of urination wil help us asses the fluid status and also give a clue for suspected infection.
