My mother was suffering from mild fever ranging between 99.5-100.5 since 1 month ..after doing all test her blood culture report came positive which I attached above...so doctor suggested Moxicip 1 dose daily for 7 days n said if if fever persue then switch to IV...after 2 days fever came down to 99 then 3-4 days it was normal then again on 5 day it was 99.5 twice a day n subside without taking medicine...now we r confused is medicine working or not...should we continue medicine or switch to IV...if continue then for how many days n how to b sure medicine is working? Should we repeat culture???

Blood culture positive... It means septecemia, which is a very serious illness.. patients who are having this will be very sick ..needs hospital care.. Blood culture positive means bacterias are in blood...but there should be a primary source of origin of this bacteria... So she needs detailed evaluation.. to find out what is the primary source of infection... IV antibiotics and supportive care in hospital..
