Fever due to Tonsillitis with pus

How long fever can last due to Tonsillitis infection with pus in child of 4-5 yrs? Earlier high grade fever 102-103 with chills reduced now to 100-101 with 3 days treatment of antibiotics. 5 more days antibiotic prescribed. Is it really needed ?

Yes it's very important to take a10 days course of antibiotics in bacterial tonsillitis. Please follow the instructions otherwise there is risk of recurrence and complications

Bacterial tonsillitis symptoms are high fever, Severe sore throat with difficulty swallowing and pus on tonsils. Antibiotics are usually required for 5-10 days depending on the symptoms. So continue using antibiotics and paracetamol for another 5 days.
