Fever 104.6 baby

Hello doctors, My son is 17 months old, 9.7 kg, he was fine until today afternoon.. a sudden spike in his temperature, all my home digital thermometer weren't working properly, so I used a IR.. checked his ear temperature showed 104.6 , gave him 4 ml of meftal. He had a febrile seizure when he was 1 year old. What should be the next step.. please guide.

See for the activity of the child Take the armpit temperature for better assessment If temperature going high every 5 to 6 hours, then you have to do the physical examination and some blood test

Give sponging with Water of room temperature frequently specially when fever is high. If fever recurrs Give Syrup Calpol/Pyrigesic/Sumol [Paracetamol] (250mg/5ml) - 3 ml sos if fever is more than 100F. Paracetamol Syrup can be repeated at 6 hours interval if necessary, When fever is more than 102.5, Meftal or Ibugesic syrup may be given, but maximum twice in day, specially to give When Paracetamol fails to lower temperature
Next Steps
Tab Frisium 5 mg - twice daily for 3 days may be given as the child has risk of febrile seizure
Health Tips
If fever persists for more than 2 days, Blood test to be done, antibiotics may be needed.
