Im taking iron supplements SOCRIL for 2 months . Ferritin slightly increased from 6 to 9 . Doctor told to continue till 6 months. But im having nausea, digestion problem. So if i take medicine twice a day alternate days . is it a good idea? can i take 2 medicine on one day and next day gap and then again 2 medicine. please help me

Hii.. Iron tablet is Commonly associated with nausea & indigestion . Also oral iron preparations only 20 % absorb in normal person & poorly benificial in person with indigestion. So if you have above issue .. go for Injectable iron preparation…You have 2 injectable option for that 1) Inj Iron Sucrose —- associated with allergic reactions & need 5 day hospital admission & daily slow dosing for 5 day 2) Inj FCM … need 2 dose once weekly. After that take Iron tab for 3-4 month in empty stomach with vitamin C .
