Eye sight difference

My left eye's power is -7 and my right eye's power is -2.5. Over the last 3 years, my left eye's power is decreasing very significantly. I am worried. Is it something serious?

Get it checked with an ophthalmologist and do carry all your old glass prescriptions along so that a comparative analysis can be done.
