Epilepsy seizures

I had my first seizure when I was 15 years old. Symptoms of seizure- hands and legs shaking violently and loss of awareness and confusion. One week later, I consulted a neurologist and was prescribed Levera tablet. All my MRI and eeg reports were normal. Two weeks later, I got my 2nd seizure due to a missing dose. I continued the medication Levera. After being seizure free for 3 years after 2nd seizure, my doctor decided to gradually decrease and then stop medicine. Medicine dosage was reduced with no instances of seizure. But 2 days later, when medication was completely stopped, I got 3rd seizure. The first seizure I got has no apparent reason and 2nd and 3rd were due to not taking medicine. I am still on Levera. My question is do I have epilepsy?

Based on your history: • First unprovoked seizure at age 15 • Second and third seizures occurred when medication was missed/stopped • Seizure-free for 3 years on treatment
Next Steps
• Continue Levera (levetiracetam) regularly • Do NOT stop medication abruptly • Re-evaluation plan: – Consider taper only after 3–5 seizure-free years – Under neurologist supervision • Follow-up: – Periodic neurologist review – Repeat EEG if advised
Health Tips
• Strict medication adherence (missing doses can trigger seizures) • Maintain good sleep (very important trigger) • Avoid alcohol/excess stress • Inform close contacts about your condition ⚠️ Safety precautions: • Avoid driving until medically cleared • Avoid swimming alone / working at heights ⸻

Eeg can help to decide whether you have epilepsy or seizures are due to some  other cause like metabolic imbalance,  electrolytes disturbance,  infection,  etc.
