Eosinophil Count

I have recently had a blood test Hb, TC platelet counts are normal In DC section the Eosinophil count is not under normal range, it is 8 % where as the normal is from 1 - 4 %. I am not under any medication right now .. Is this something serious to be considered ?

Hello, if u feel no COMPLAINT than it's ok if SYMPTOMS lilke skin ALLERGY or RESPIRATORY distress than start treatment OTHERWISE no need to start treatment. Ok bye.

Eosinophilia Eosinophilia is defined as a peripheral blood eosinophil count > 500/μL usually due to an allergic reaction or a parasitic infection or sometimes drug reaction. SX - ask about recent travel (suggesting possible parasite exposure), allergies, medication use. PE - Rash (allergic, dermatologic, or vasculitic disorders), abnormal lung findings (asthma, lung infections, or syndromes of pulmonary infiltration with eosinophilia), and generalized lymphadenopathy or splenomegaly (myeloproliferative disorders or cancer).
Next Steps
DX - CBC. Stool Ova and Parasite. CXR.
Health Tips
TX - Sometimes corticosteroids. Anti-parasitic medication. Drugs known to be associated with eosinophilia are stopped.
