You need to get your nose and paranasal sinuses scanned for hidden reservoirs of infection which is causing the persistent ear discharge. I do not operate upon the ear unless I am assured by the patient that it has not discharged for at least 3 months. This is why in my career of almost 20 years only 2 of my patients have had a failed eardrum. One due to uncontrolled
diabetes and the other because the patient lied to me that ear was dry for 3 months!
Next Steps
If CT scan of your nose and sinuses confirms my doubts, get it treated - medically or nasal surgery followed by medicines and finally when the ear becomes dry, you may be surprised to find your doctor telling you the the perforation has spontaneously healed!
Just make sure to keep your ears dry by using silicone earplugs while bathing in the meanwhile.
