This started last night and most probably because I clean my ears too much with a cotton swab daily. I really should drop the habit. There is mild pain.

Hi I doubt u have contracted otitis externa due to excessive use of cotton buds. I would suggest you to visit an ent specialist and get yourself examined properly and get yourself a proper treatment. Regards
