Ear infection and surgery

I have ear infection 1 week ago.but from the  initial stage only I used supplements like antibiotics,ear drops and nozin tablets.but my doctor told me that after dry up my ear I need to go for a surgery. Is it necessary.please suggest me.now it is all dried up.but there is so much of itching..what should I do.

The decision for surgery depends upon how many years are you been discharging ear, and how frequently, also what type of middle ear infection, the damage to tympanic membrane and loss of hearing, unless we have all the above details, it is difficult to comment on surgery.

Buy a pair of silicone earplugs(like the ones used for swimming, available at all sporting goods stores) to waterproof ears, especially while bathing. If ears are itching, please meet your ENT, as you may have developed Otomycosis(ear fungus) which is quite common in your state in summers with people having ear discharge. It needs to be cleared out to free you of the itching.

Keep Ear dry ,Avoid using ear buds ,put Cotton during shower in affected ear,Candibiotic ear drops 2 drops twice daily for 5 days
