Which type of tooth color filling is durable for a long time and can bond with teeth. When I go to a doctor he uses Vaseline also, which type of material is it and does it lasts long.

Nowadays there are several materials which bond good to teeth and remain there for long. Your dentist must be using a material called as Glass Ionomer. Its been used by all the dentists since long , is flouride releasing(anticariogenic), and gives no problem to the patient. Also you can opt for laser filling(composites) which is absolutely tooth coloured and lasts long.
