I'm facing mental illness I'm using medications for last two months so doctors suggested me to go for ect electro convulsiveness therapy Please suggest me can I go for it as I heard that ect has many side effects

Hi. This is Dr Kishore I think a doctor is a qualified person to treat you and does everything in the best interest of you. If you are suggested ECT by a psychiatrist, I think that might be a good treatment option for you. Currently modified ECT is being used which minimises the side effects. ECT is being portrayed in a bad manner in media and movies leading to many misconceptions .

Only headaches,muscle pain n little bit memoryloss (NOT PERMANENT WILL GET BACK AFTER 1 WEEK OF ECT) Not like u have in films/media Plz search Google video for modified ECT
