BPPV or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is a condition involving middle ear where abnormal stimulation of inner ear balance organs occur on certain positions of head. Causes of this condition are not well defined and most of the times can't be identified. Symptoms of this condition include 1. Sudden onset of severe giddiness on turning head which lasts for few Mins 2. Many such episodes per day 3. Medicines usually do not work 4. Associated nausea during giddiness 5. Repeated head movements will reduce giddiness severity This is a very benign condition and diagnosis is confirmed by a maneuver known as dix hallipike maneuver Once confirmed another maneuver known as epleys maneuver is done to treat the problems Usually this maneuver is all that is required and may be repeated if required Consult nearby ENT specialist for more details
