Hi. Your doubts are very genuine. So let me take them one by one. 1. DLE can come as a single patch/plaque and biopsy of that alone is sufficient to confirm. 2. YES this could be a recurrent problem and can cause scarring - therefore its better you take treatment - even as a preventive measure to avoid worsening of the problem. 3. YES, ANA must be done - its better if its negative; if it is positive, there may be other tests that may be needed which the doctor will let you know accordingly. 4. Counts and ESR can be normal - so thats good for you. IF its pure DLE without and SLE (systemic involvement) - then its a better form of the disorder.
