In the first place disc prolapse not necessarily needs surgery. If can be corrected without surgery.
The reason you get disc prolapse is due to poor flexibility between hip and thigh.
You can skip surgery. Surgery still reduces flexibility and your mother will lose bending motion. Nature has a reason to have disc and for no reason you are supposed to remove disc.
Surgery is an unnecessary protocol, give it a miss.
