I have mild disc herniation at L5 pain is radiating down my left leg(sciatica). I have tried conservative treatments for 1 month and got little relief. Will epidural steroid injection do any good for me? For how long will the effects of injection last?

Injection relief can be temporary  ..it all depends on how much changes you have in spine . Best is  consult with doctor with mri reports

Clinical assessment of pation is extremely important. Disc herniation and nerve compression are assessed in original films of MRI. Epidural steroid is a temporary solution to reduce pain till you get your body sorted out by doing physiotherapy and exercises to strengthen the back and core muscles. Stretching of your Hamstring muscles along with posture correction is the most important thing.
