Are usage of disposable diapers for my 2 month old infant safe? Have heard conflicting info on the net.

You haven't described what conflicting information you have encountered on the internet and what you meant by 'safe' in terms of diapers. Diapers changed as soon as they are soiled should be 'safe'.

They predispose to diaper rashes and urinary tract infection. What we suggest is not to put round the clock but during night times you can use. Remaining times use plain cloth. In that way you can keep a count on urine output, and at the same time he will sleep peacefully during night.
