My son has 4.yr 2months old still he unable to speak ..He indicates the things what he wants.n needs...He won't repeat things which we say or do.. some doctors advised that he had mild autism..How can I improve him

Delayed speech as pointed out by others can be because of multiple reason. A proper diagnosis should be made before starting treatment. For the diagnosis purposes, if you are suspecting autism you should consult a psychiatrist and clinical psychologist. Clinical psychologist would help you with diagnosis and testing the severity of autism if present. Accordingly an intervention could be planned. Lot of times autistic kids don’t speak, not because they can’t speak but they do not prefer to speak. A holistic intervention provided by a team of psychologist and speech therapist can help.
