Your white blood cell count is absolutely within on lower normal range. The lower side of normal is 4,000, and your sister have 4,200, so it's not low. When we get a cold or viral fever, the WBC may go a bit towards the lower side, which is expected. My advice would be: Rest, hydration, light diet while recovering from viral fever. Paracetamol 500-650 mg As prescribed by your treating doctor. No antibiotics unless secondary bacterial infection suspected (purulent sputum, persistent high fever >5 days, localized signs). Warning signs (when to recheck / come back): • Persistent fever >5 days Very high fever (>103°F/39.5°C) • Shortness of breath, chest pain • Bleeding/bruising, mouth ulcers (would suggest true leukopenia) If fever persists, repeat CBC after 3 days.
