My daughter is 5 months old and since 5 days she started drinking cows milk and is also feeding on formula milk. Both are running simultaneous. She has stopped mothers feed since last 1 month. Everything was good, But today she started to cry while passing motion , she was having a tight motion and started to cry as she was not able to pass it. What should be do? Also some blood kind of thing came out with the motion.

Constipation in Babies less than 1 year is very common and more in formula fed babies and also when initially the semi solid food has been started after 6 months . you can give bonnisan drops and some enzyme preparations in proper dose suggested by doctor and cow's milk should be avoided before 1 year of age . Medications are required but it should be given only in medical supervision .

As you've mentioned some blood like thing after stool, it definitely needs a full consultation and complete examination. The hard stool possibly is due the cows milk and formula.
Next Steps
If breastfeeding is not possible, only then should an alternative formula be used and not cow's milk.

These can be often due to formula feeding. Nothing to worry at present. If this persists for more than a day, visit a doctor. Must continue only breast feeds. If symptoms persist, rule out intusussception with doctor
Next Steps
Observe for 1 day If no response, visit doctor
Health Tips
Watch for blood in stools
