4 June D Dimer-1800 (sample date 30 may) We had doubts, so did d dimer on 5 June. It was 200 But on 4th june night and 5th june morning father had taken dabigatran blood thinner. Question 1: Does taking blood thinner lower d dimer? Then after one week course of blood thinner, report of 13 june: D dimer:200 Question 2: Should we conclude that first report (d dimer 1800) was false?

Answer 1. Yes, taking blood thinner( dabigatran) reduces d Dimer. 2. Cannot say 100 percent as to what caused the d dimer to decrease. It could be lab error.
