Cough and cold with bad breath

My son is 2.6 yearr old he is having cold. And he is coughing mostly in night and afternoon during sleeping time. He is very active and eating very good but i am concerned about his bad breath. Few days he is having very bad breath. I have not given any medicine to him for cough and cold. Should i take him to dr for physical consultation

Cough only while lying down occurs mostly due to post nasal drip. Having bad smell from mouth along with that indicates complete oral examination for tonsils, adenoids or any other pus collection. So visit the doctor asap.
