Continue or stop???

For an abscess which i developed on my inner vaginal lip.. My doctor gave me povidine iodine (betadine)ointment to keep bd per day. But immediately the moment i am applying it. I am feeling very very itchy; wired; burning; stinging sensation near the area i am applying.. Should i continue?? Is this normal if applied on abscess or i am allergic?? Should i stop? Help Also i feel i have developed allergic reaction in vagina due to this.. How to calm it??? Rugae like structure seen on vaginal opening.. Due to this..
