My baby is 19 months old. For the past one week he is passing motion two days once.. But passing frequent urine.. My doc prescribed laxative duphalac 5ml twice a day for two weeks.. Baby passing motion on giving.. I gave it for three days. But am scared whether giving duphalac will become addictive??? Is it safe to give baby for two weeks?? Another doubt will it cause weight loss for the baby on giving??? Pls suggest.. Am giving dietry fiber and fruit juice everyday.. Old suggest dietry fiber vegetables also???

If he is passing a normal stools once in 2days then no need of laxative If it's constipated hard stools then you have to give laxative as it helps in preventing complications later on and also it's doesn't have any addictive property.

U can give duphalac once daily for 2 weeks. It will not cause any harm . There will not be any weight loss by giving it.

Giving duphalac is not harm you can give . But make your child eat high fiber diet also give plenty of water.Morning in empty stomach make the child drink water and make him sit in potty.
