First look at the reason why he is crying, in colicky pain baby usually cries for more than 30 min to 1 hour continuously, mostly in the evening or in the midnight, and usually cry is inconsolable and refuses feeds for that period. If baby is crying for feeds, in such cases cry is consolable and baby stops crying after feeds. Once colicky pain is diagnoses, give medications for short period only, for 4-5 days. If baby is on formula feeds, stop giving it and give him exclusive breast milk

Dear parents, Hold the baby in one arm keeping his head at elbow joint and the buttocks in the palm of same arm and feed the baby for 15to20minutes I. Hold the baby outer palm in between the thumb and index finger and press the palm when ever baby sleep or stop feeding. After feeding put the baby on left shoulder and pat just behind stomach level for 5mintues to burpe. Baby burp 3to5times. After burping lay down the baby on right side of baby with a small pillow under the head so that head is above level of stomach .. If you burpe properly no colic will occur
