Well the complaints as described by you:-
• Fast heartbeat
• Cold hands and feet
• Sweaty palms
• Sudden episode
This combination is very common and usually caused by a temporary adrenaline surge, not a serious disease.
The three most common causes are:
1. Anxiety / Panic episode (most common)
Even if you felt “normal,” the body can release adrenaline suddenly.
Symptoms:
• Fast heartbeat
• Sweaty cold hands
• Shivering or trembling
• Feeling restless
• Chest tightness
• Feeling scared without reason
This is the most common cause in young women and is not dangerous.
2. Low blood pressure or sudden drop in BP
Happens when:
• Not drinking enough water
• Skipping meals
• Sudden standing
• Weakness or low
sugar
Symptoms:
• Fast heartbeat
• Cold hands/feet
• Feeling faint
• Sweating
3.
Thyroid or anemia issues
If this happens repeatedly, it can be due to:
• Low Hb
• Thyroid imbalance
•
Vitamin B12 deficiency
These make your heart beat faster with very little stress.
Other less likely causes
• Caffeine or energy drinks
• Lack of sleep
• Heavy periods
• Fever starting
• Hormonal fluctuations
These normally correct on their own.
Next Steps
1. Drink water or ORS slowly
Dehydration can trigger fast heartbeat.
2. Take deep, slow breaths
Inhale 4 seconds → hold 2 seconds → exhale 6 seconds
Repeat for 5 minutes.
3. Eat something light
Like fruit or biscuit.
4. Rest for 15–20 minutes
Your heartbeat should settle.
