Need a brief history to what has happened. If this is injured, need ice packs, anti inflammatory and analgesic to settle down initial swelling and pain. If there is a wound, see your orthopaedic for consultation on need for an antibiotic course. Sprains are to be treated with RICE therapy- rest, ice, compression bandage & elevation. Donot worry and take expert opinion
Next Steps
Xrays might be needed for thumb and may be an MR scan for the wrist ligaments
Health Tips
RICE therapy :)
