Very good question, My professor used to teach this technique of storing insulin at home with help of two clay pot ( mithi ka ghada) , take large 10 liter size clay port fill it with sand ( larger size generaly used in home construction) then put some water reaching upto upper surface of sand, then take a small clay port of suitable size that can fit inside larger 10 liter clay pot, then put insulin vial and pen inside the smaller pot and cover it with clay port, regularly refilled water and kept in dark and cool site in home

Get one ice box and ice pack . You can put your insulin shots in that .

Keep in 1 glass of water.

It can be kept in ice cooled insulated boxes. But you need to ensure there is no direct contact with the ice packs as it can freeze the insulin, it will impact it's integrity
