There is no particular creatinine value..... It needs to be interpreted in the light of the clinical condition of the patient

Hello, Creatinine and urea level are not the only thing which decide need of dialysis, with a creat of 5 mg/dl patient will be in stage 5 CKD , if asymptomatic - can be dialysis independent but need to be aware of symptoms and signs which suggest need of dialysis like generalised swelling of body, very less urine output, vomitings,sleep disturbance, change in sensorium and sometimes seizures,severe breathlessness. Advice-CKD diet, vaccination, AV fistula creation, medication adherence, follow up with nephrologist at least once monthly with RFT, Serum electrolytes, ABG.

If creatinine is this much for more than 3 months that means it is a CHRONIC kidney disease for sure. She doesn't seem to require dialysis immediately but unfortunately her renal function is slowly but surely going to deteriorate and eventually she shall require regular dialysis n kidney transplant. Don't worry it is not painful. Also if ur nephrologist agrees get an AV fistula done in next few months. This will make her veins swell and be sufficiently large enough for dialysis. What u need to do RIGHT NOW is ,-- renal protection strategy. That means take care of following things so that renal function doesn't decline rapidly n she also remains healthy. 1. Correct anemia 2. Treat hypertension 3. Treat diabetes 4 treat proteinuria 5 adequate proteins in diet-0.8 g per kg per day 6 treat psychological issues if any 7 keep ca , phosphate, bicarbonate and PTH levels in target range ( ur nephrologist will help in all this)
