Chest X-ray for diagnosing pulmonary TB

If someone's chest X-ray is clear/normal 2 months after being exposed to someone with TB, does it mean he/she is at least not having pulmonary TB? Can chest X-ray be a diagnostic tool for detecting pulmonary TB?

Yes it is a diagnostic tool. But normal chest x-ray doesn't mean no TB

If the chest x ray is normal it means that there is no active pulmonary tuberculosis. Chest Xray can be a diagnostic tool for detecting TB, however it is often co- related with other blood tests and history of patient before coming to a definite conclusion.
