Cavity in Wisdom Tooth
Having cavity in my wisdom tooth and am under blood thinner medication post my Aortic Valve Surgery. Should I go for tooth extraction? It's the last tooth on my jaw towards the throat side. Pls suggest

Tooth extraction can be carried out with the consent of your general physician. You may need to stop blood thinners few days before extraction. But if Valve surgery was done recently- ie, in 6 months or 1 year time, then it is better to wait for extraction.

It is little tricky to do root canal for a wisdom teeth because of limited accessibility and extreme root curvature . If it is perfectly erupted and has an opposing teeth we prefer doing root canal. Or else removal is ideal. Check with a dentist . We need X-ray and photo of the tooths position on the arch for us to suggest . Giving a cap is not easy either. Removing wouldn't be a problem once you get a consent from your cardiologist . Stop the blood thinners five days prior to the removal after consulting your cardiologist .
