Brown red patches inside the cheek

Hello doctors, Suddenly I can see this brown-red patch inside my cheek. It's been almost a week, and it still looks like this. There's no pain in that area, but I clearly know I'm not biting my cheek consciously. Any solution for this, please? I attached the picture

Hello Mam. I understand your concern. As per your given history of persistent brown patch on the buccal mucosa( inner cheek) with no relevant pain and no cheek biting habit. I would suggest to observe the patch for another week . If the patch persists you should visit near by Dentist and get it checked once clinically. If there is no history of any habits may it be pan chewing or tobacco smoking etc, it is not alarming. But if there is relevant history it’s time to stop the habit.
Next Steps
Maintain oral hygiene.
Health Tips
Avoid too spicy ,too hot food

Based on the image, the area appears to be a localized pigmented/red-brown patch on the buccal mucosa. Such lesions can occur due to minor trauma, cheek biting, irritation from a sharp tooth edge, vascular changes, or localized pigmentation. However, a definitive diagnosis cannot be made from a photograph alone. Since the lesion has been present for about a week and is asymptomatic, I would advise monitoring it for another 1–2 weeks while avoiding any local irritation.
Next Steps
If it increases in size, changes in color, becomes painful, ulcerated, or persists beyond 2 weeks, a clinical examination by an Oral Medicine Specialist or Oral Surgeon is recommended. Further investigations may be required if the lesion does not resolve.
Health Tips
Maintain good oral hygiene and avoid tobacco, smoking, alcohol, and spicy foods until evaluated.

Hello. This seems like a submucosal hemorrhage due to any unrecognized minor trauma. I would suggest you to consult a local dentist for the same.

Hi, I understand your concern. Brown-red patches inside cheek without pain can have a few reasons: Most common causes: 1. Cheek bite / Trauma: You might be biting cheek during sleep without knowing. It looks like a bruise initially - brownish red. 2. Pigmentation: Sometimes melanin deposits happen due to minor irritation. Harmless. 3. Petechiae: Small blood spots due to injury, hard brushing, or even vitamin C deficiency. 4. Lichen Planus: If it has white lines around, but yours looks different from photo. Since it's been 1 week with NO pain, NO growth, NO bleeding, it's likely minor trauma or pigmentation. But we cannot confirm without proper examination.
Next Steps
1. Check if any sharp tooth edge near that area. If yes, dentist can smoothen it. 2. Avoid spicy/hot food for 3 days & observe. If it fades, it's trauma. 3. Don't rub with tongue. Apply a little coconut oil to keep area moist.
Health Tips
When to worry & see a dentist immediately: If the patch - grows in size, becomes ulcer, bleeds, turns white/grey, or you feel any lump. From your photo it looks like a healed traumatic spot, but online diagnosis has limits. For exact confirmation, an in-person check is best. You can consult me online to show a clearer video of the patch. I'll guide you if it needs clinic visit or not. Dr. Santhosh BDS
