Bright Red Blood spot on stool surface

From the last 2-3 days, there is bright red blood spot on the surface of the stool. I sit for long hours. The water intake is around 3 lts per day. Normal diet of Roti, Vegetable , Rice and Lentils. Nothing spicy. Family history: Father has hemorrhoids problems. Please do let me know what should I do.
