Breast abscess
Hi, I have been diagnosed with breast abscesses in my rt breast and doctor has advised for antibiotic therapy (augmentine 625, zerodol sp and sprolac ds) for 7 days. My question is will it be cured on medicine or should I get operated ?
It depends on the size of the abscess and state of the abscess (solid/semisolid/ liquid).
If it is small size and semisolid state it will subside with antibiotics alone.
If it is bigger in size and in liquid state you may need surgery (incision and drainage).
Next Steps
Measure the size of abscess.If it is more than 4 cm and liquid state better to go for Surgery.

Consult doctor if the abscess is associated with local signs ( Redness, Local rise of temperature,pain ).
