Brachial plexus injury

My father met with an accident 9 months ago and sustained brachial plexus injury...now his left hand is not functioning but finger movements are there in left hand..he is currently doing physiotherapy..is surgery needed for brachial plexus injury since my father is 69 years old??..I surfed in net about nerve Grafting and nerve transfer surgery..but my father's age is 69 years..will he be fit for the nerve surgery?? Will there be a better prognosis in surgery in this oldage?Also my father is having severe pain in left hand..will the pain go away over time??pls pls help me...I have attached the report..
