Dear Patient,
Since your mother is a known case of hypertension and migraine and is now experiencing increased headache frequency, BP fluctuations, and new-onset cheek swelling with redness, she requires prompt clinical evaluation.
The current symptoms may be due to:
• Uncontrolled blood pressure
• Migraine exacerbation
• Drug-related side effect
• Allergic or inflammatory reaction
• Less commonly, facial infection or vascular cause
Advice:
• Monitor blood pressure twice daily and record readings
• Do not change or stop prescribed BP medications without consultation
• Check if any new medicine was started recently
• Apply cold compress over swollen area if mild
She should consult a Physician / Internal Medicine specialist first for complete evaluation. If BP is significantly high (>160/100 mmHg) or headache is severe with vomiting, vision changes, weakness, or confusion, seek emergency care immediately.
Further evaluation may require blood tests and medication adjustment.
