If you are otherwise healthy, swelling on both legs may be due to prolonged sitting. Long sitting itself can cause fluid to accumulate in the lower limbs due to gravity. And if you have got varicose veins ( sometimes not visible peripherally) this can also cause swelling in legs, as in varicose vein blood flow from leg to heart is blocked. There are many other serious health conditions where leg swellings are seen.. to rule out these, a detailed Physical examination and lab tests and imaging are required. Some medicines can also cause pedal oedema. So if you are on any medications please do talk to your doctor about that also It is always recommended to rule out any major organ dysfunction at the earliest. So kindly consult a nearby physician and let him evaluate for the actual cause of your pedal oedema.
Health Tips
If you are obese, try to reduce your weight. If you can, pls take small breaks in between your work and walk.. Try to keep your leg a little elevated while sitting for a long time. salt restricted diet
