Usually laxatives are given to soften your stool which may cause increased bowel movement You need to maintain hygiene and keep applying the perianal ointment prescribed after doing sitz bath after every time you pass stool Healing will only hamper if the area stays soiled with stool particles
Next Steps
Keep the area clean and maintain hygiene

It usually won't hamper But you should take note that the consistency of stool must not be hard or you should not strain to defecate. Sitz bath ( must have been advised on discharge) are essential and keeping the area clean is important.
Next Steps
Try medication and ointments and laxatives .
