Blood in stool is an alarming symptom to the patient. However common things are common. Painless fresh blood points to hemorrhoids ( commonly called piles) in most of the patients with constipation which is not a serious issue. Most require medicines and control of constipation. A check up with a surgeon is advised to confirm diagnosis, evaluate constipation and also rule out other rare causes.
