I generally get my periods before or on due date. This time I got one week late. Major problem is I am getting huge blood clots along with normal bleeding. And this time amount is much higher than normal. Is it normal to get clots? Or there is some problem?

If this is a one time episode you need not worry. If you were involved in physical activities like sports or stressed out due to exams etc periods tend to shift by a few days. A layer called endometrium in the uterus grows and is shed during periods as clots and blood. Its normal . In a delay the endometrium grows slightly more and that’s what increased your bleeding . Relax eat well and maintain a daily exercise routine.
Next Steps
Keep a watch on your periods and maintain a calendar with your period dates(which you seem to be doing.. so good!) Incase this problem continues in the next 3-4 periods cycles you can consult a gynaecologist personally, with ultrasound (abdomen pelvis) report.
Health Tips
Please do a minimum of 30 mins of exercising daily. Even if its just walking or running . It helps to keep periods in check and also avoids obesity and pcos problems.

I would advise you to visit a gynecologist so that you can be evaluated and undergo investigations such as an ultrasound to rule out any underlying problems. These lifestyle changes may help in making it regular and having a good flow: - Avoid fatty, oily, fried and junk food - Exercise regularly (minimum of 30-45 minutes) - Destress yourself with practices such as yoga/meditation - Maintain a healthy body and diet - Have vegetable juices - Include corn, beets, lettuce, drumsticks, and pumpkin seeds in your daily diet - Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have the habit Kindly visit the gynecologist
