No every patient need not require surgery... But detailed evaluation is necessary.. If tissue necrosis (damage) is not there clinically or in scan then only medical treatment will work... In early stages antifungals, maintaining good hygiene, monitoring blood sugar levels and reversing underlying immunosuppression are good options.
