Black dry layer on toes (only thumb toe)

I got dark hard layer of skin on my toe ( I have attached the pics) almost 2 years ago on one of my toe and I got the same problem on another toe ( but less than other toe ) about a year ago I have tried scrubbing ( not regularly) it decreases but then comes back to normal. I haven't tried anything else other than this . Is this a serious condition or can I cure this through home remedies or medicines Pls help Thanking you in advance

It is due to falulty ill fitting chappals. The skin get thickened and black dry due to repeated friction of the chappals on that area . Tip- change the chappals
