Biopsy done last year but again periods

Dear sir My mother had done biopsy last year after menopause. She is 58 year old again periods started suddenly so we decided hysterectomy : removal of uterus fallopian tube and ovaries. Is this safe ? What test required before this surgery?? Currently sugar and thyroid on medication.
