There is no best antibiotic and they are prescribed according to the clinical evaluation of the case.
You can take the antibiotic prescribed to you but the unfortunate part about dental infections is that medications are not going to cure the problem but will only subside that symptoms temporarily.
The infection is bound to recur again and maybe with a even higher intensity.
So the best approach is to go for the objective treatment of the cause of that infection. Without having a look at the clinical picture of your case, I can give you a tentative suggestion that gum cleaning will be required for alleviation of your symptoms permanently.
