You can walk barefoot in your house but never in a hospital. Hospital waste is always the most infected cocktail of many organisms. There may be small pieces of glass (broken ampoules).

Hospital is a infectious area better to walk with slippers. Once or twice doesn't cause any harm

Good to walk in barefoot in and around your house area.. but in hospital you can avoid, but if it was unavoidable due to some emergency condition definitely don't panic.. wash your foot properly with soap and water that's it.
